Japanese Book Binding Workshop Friday

A hands-on workshop for students, library staff and the community will be held at the Central Library Community Room on Friday, Nov. 9, at 10 am and 11 am. Each session will last an hour; they are identical in content.

The workshop includes two parts:

  • A brief introduction to Japanese printing history from Bryan Lowe, Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies.
  • A hands-on bookbinding activity led by Lesley Patterson-Marx, artist and educator.

Materials and space are limited. Please register to reserve a space. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to indicate your status (confirmed or on the waiting list).

Even if you aren’t able to take part as a registered attendee, please feel free to come for the short lecture and to observe the bookbinding.
