A new exhibit at the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries’ Special Collections and University Archives offers a glimpse into the personal and professional lives of some of the world’s most renowned authors and poets, including several with connections to Vanderbilt University.
Buchanan Library Fellows program now accepting applications
The Buchanan Library Fellows program supports hands-on student learning opportunities that build desirable skills and deepen students’ understanding of resources and services in the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries. With a focus on undergraduate instruction, the program connects faculty and professional librarians with students to work on experiential library projects and present their work at the end of their fellowship.
Celebrate 2024 Constitution Day with the Heard Libraries
The Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries will host an event on Tuesday, Sept. 17, to celebrate Constitution Day, observed each year to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, and to “recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.”

Nashville Comic Arts Festival set for Sept. 14 at Vanderbilt’s Central Library
Comic book, graphic novel and zine enthusiasts will come together at the inaugural Nashville Comic Arts Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Vanderbilt University’s Central Library. The free event, which is open to the public, will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Central Library Community Room.

A valuable free resource from the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries’ Divinity Library is making Christian worship more accessible to millions of biblical scholars, church leaders and congregants worldwide. The online Revised Common Lectionary receives more than a million visits each year—making it Vanderbilt University’s second most-visited site on the web.
