Internet Privacy: Skills for Encrypting your Online Activity

In this increasingly open and connected world, does privacy really exist? Does it matter? If so, what are the links between privacy and intellectual freedom? The Libraries is pleased to welcome Alison Macrina to campus on March 14. Ms. Macrina is the founding director of the Library Freedom Project, an internet activist, and core contributor to the Tor project. Join us from 11:00-2:30 in the Central Library Community Room to learn about the implications of the normalization of online surveillance and be sure to bring your laptops and/or smartphones as well. We will have privacy experts on hand to help attendees learn about and install password managers, anonymous browsing with Tor, location privacy, and secure/encrypted messaging software and practices.
