Heard Library to test Oomf portable device chargers!

oomf

Eight campus libraries will begin a pilot project to make portable chargers for mobile devices available to the campus community.  Oomf provides on-the-go students with a powerful, portable charging service for any micro-USB or Apple Lightning® compatible device. Oomf smart chargers are available to rent and return at designated locations around campus, giving students the flexibility and power to stay charged, connected, and mobile.

Portable charging will be free during the pilot – simply create an account by visiting the Oomf website, a valid debit or credit card is required. Through December, activating a portable charger will be free. However, if the charger is not returned within the 24-hour rental period, students will be billed a $5 extended-charging fee for each day the charger is not returned.

After the trial, beginning spring semester, the cost to activate a charger will be $1.00, or free if students choose to watch a downloaded advertisement instead.

Look for the Oomf mobile charging kiosks at any of our campus libraries.
