Beginning at 10:00pm on May 31st all links to the Acorn library catalog will be re-directed to DiscoverLibrary, the library’s information discovery tool. This is necessary while the system is migrated to a new server and the software is upgraded.
DiscoverLibrary allows users to search across a wider-breath of the library’s materials. In addition to books, e-books, DVDs and other items found in Acorn, DiscoverLibrary also offers access to journal articles. DiscoverLibrary provides the benefit of a one-stop service, with access to more materials through a single search box.
There is an Acorn tab in DiscoverLibrary that will search only the materials that would have been found in the older web interface to the Acorn catalog. Library staff are available to help new users navigate and utilize DiscoverLibrary for their specific research needs – just Ask a Librarian.
The Acorn interface will remain unavailable until maintenance on its dated operating system and servers have been addressed; it is not yet known when the Acorn work will be complete. We expect return to the normal system should be available by the end of June. If you have questions or comments please let us know.
