Managing Your Online Scholarly Presence

Friday, February 6th 11:00 AM Central Library

The Internet opens a world of opportunities for those in academia. A researcher’s work can be seen by colleagues on other continents. The opportunities for establishing a reputation have increased exponentially with social media. However, the sheer number of websites and tools can be overwhelming. Which resources are worth using? How does one go about managing an online reputation?

The library’s own Ed Warga will teach attendees how to manage their online scholarly presence in this week’s workshop on Friday, February 6. He will give an overview of researcher profiles, research IDs, and citation tracking. After participating in this workshop, participants will better understand how the Internet can be used an extension of their scholarly reputation.
