There was a great turnout for the library popup at Featheringill Hall on September 12th, hosted by the Science and Engineering Library. We talked with a total of 103 students.
The library was officially named the Sarah Shannon Stevenson Science Library in September, 1976. The “engineering” addition came later. Little is known about Mrs. Stevenson. Stevenson Science and Engineering Library was the host to Vanderbilt Students Volunteers for Science (VSVS). VSVS is currently recruiting new members. The organization is made up of students who are committed to bringing inquiry-based, hands-on science lessons to middle-school students – grades 5-8. Coming soon…in the Fall of 2018 the Science and Engineering Library will begin to lend a variety of technology equipment including: Digital Cameras, tripods and lenses, Laptops: both Dell and Macbook Air, a Molecular Modeling Kit, Laptop and Phone Chargers, Graphing and Non-graphing Calculators, Makerspace Devices, Headphones, Virtual Reality Headsets, and a Go Pro.
