Sensory kits available at Central Library to help you ‘stress less’ during exam season

Do you feel anxious about studying for final exams? If so, the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries are here to help you channel that nervous energy in a positive way. By checking out one of the new sensory kits from Central Library, you can not only relieve your stress but also improve your study habits.

To see the current availability of sensory kits, visit the library catalog. You can choose from two options: a “fidget kit” with several varieties of fidget toys or an “audio/visual kit” that includes a miniature white noise machine and bubble timer. Both kits also contain soundproof earmuffs, a fidget cube toy, a tangle fidget toy, and four Calm Strips. Kits can be checked out for two hours at a time.

The sensory kits are made possible by the Vanderbilt Libraries IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Committee, which works behind the scenes to improve access to services and collections for all patrons. To help the committee improve its efforts, please use the QR code included in the kits to share your feedback.
