Rachel Lane Walden appointed as EBL Assistant Director for Research and Education Services

Rachel Walden has been a valuable member of the EBL team since 2015 and has all the skills, knowledge and vision to lead this unit.  She has an impressive record of performance, research and service that shows her potential for professional growth and promotion. She is highly engaged with the health sciences community, has designed and delivered workshops on literature reviews, citation management and other research related topics, and worked with researchers on various projects. Rachel’s experience in the Medical Library Association’s Rising Star program and her leadership role in the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association will provide valuable knowledge and skills in this new role. Rachel’s has ambitious goals to improve the library’s services and resources to meet the changing needs of our users and build new collaborations with other units on campus. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated leadership, creativity, initiative, and a customer focused work ethic which I am confident will continue in this supervisory role.
