Prize–winning author Marjoleine Kars to speak April 14

The Robert Penn Warren Center in partnership with the Department of History, Jean & Alexander Heard Libraries and the Department of African and African American Studies is pleased to welcome University of Maryland Baltimore County Professor Marjoleine Kars to campus on April 14, 2022.

Professor Kars is the 2022 Black Atlanta Speaker Series author of Blood on the River: A Chronicle of Mutiny and Freedom on the West Coast, winner of the Frederick Douglass Prize and the Cundill History Prize.

She will read and discuss her book Thursday, April 14, at 4:00 p.m. in the Central Library Community Room. Reception to follow.
