Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon: Women of Digital Humanities | Wednesday, March 17, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Wikipedia suffers from a well-documented gender bias, but we’re working to correct that imbalance. Prominent women scholars working in the digital humanities like Melissa Terras, Laura Mandel, Johanna Drucker and Roopika Risameither lack articles or have articles in need of more data. Join us to write these women’s work into Wikipedia. Lynn Ramey, professor of French and faculty director of the digital humanities center, will speak on women working in the field. Bring your curiosity and desire to improve the encyclopedia, and we will teach you to edit and get you started.
