Interlibrary loan and remote resources during the COVID-19 pandemic

The Vanderbilt Libraries continue to provide critical resources for research in a manner that maintains your safety and security. Since early March, we have fulfilled 3,170 e-requests for Vanderbilt patrons and delivered 3,070 e-requests to other libraries around the world.Contact Vanderbilt’s Interlibrary Loan department to request titles for your research.

We have access to temporarily available e-resources during this period when few research libraries are sharing physical volumes. If we cannot access a title needed for teaching or research, we will work with our acquisitions department to purchase an e-book.

Since March 9, we have provided hundreds of scans from our collections in lieu of physical books and purchased over 500 e-books to support course readings, instruction and research. The libraries have created a research guide for content made temporarily available by publishers and added thousands of those titles to the library catalog so they will appear in your searches.

Subject librarians and interlibrary loan staff can help you find an e-text even when you think it is not out there.
