Celebrate Women’s History by Editing Wikipedia at Peabody Learning Commons

Edit women’s stories into Wikipedia at Vanderbilt Libraries during Women’s History Month.  Celebrations commemorating the 100th anniversary of Women’s suffrage continue on the Peabody Campus in March. Women of Peabody is an Edit-a-Thon March 18, 2020 from 12 noon to 3pm.

Catherine Gavin Loss, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professional Education at Peabody College and Associate Professor of the Practice in Education and Policy, will speak on WOMEN+EDUCATION+POLITICS around the issues of southern women’s political activism on suffrage, women’s access to education, and Peabody activists.

This event provides the community with the chance to contribute to the public good by editing Wikipedia entries featuring the women of Peabody—staff, faculty and students who shaped the college.

We’re editing to improve the gender gap on Wikipedia. We’ll teach you how to edit in a community of learners, no experience required. please bring your laptop. Lunch will be provided.
