Wednesday at 2:15 pm

Thursday at 3:15 pm

WEBSITE:

I would also encourage you to become familiar with the resources and services available through our website:  http://www.library.vanderbilt.edu/law/

In particular, you may want to take a look at Law Library 101: https://researchguides.library.vanderbilt.edu/lawlibrary101

RESEARCH INSTRUCTION:

The legal research component of your Legal Research & Writing class will be taught by one of our law librarians. All of our law librarians have a JD as well as a Master’s degree in library and information science. We hope your legal research instructor will become a resource for you during your time here at Vanderbilt Law School and after you graduate.

RESEARCH GUIDANCE:

Law librarians are available to provide in-person research guidance (to the extent permitted by course rules) Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

WESTLAW, LEXIS, BLOOMBERG LAW:

You will receive your passwords to these databases during the first week of your Legal Writing class.

FOOD, DRINK, CELL PHONE POLICIES:

Food and drink are permitted in the Law Library, but please be considerate of your classmates by avoiding foods that make excessive noise or create an odor. Please clean up after yourself. If you spill something, please let us know so that we may contact housekeeping. Please turn your cell phone on vibrate while in the library and step outside if you need to take a call.

SECURITY:

Please always secure your valuables, and do not leave your personal belongings unattended. Any items left unattended will be collected and kept at the Service Desk for retrieval. Also, please ask the Service Desk attendant to call security if you witness suspicious or disorderly behavior.

And, please feel free to contact us directly if there is anything we can do to improve your experience here at Vanderbilt!
