Leslie Foutch is the subject librarian for the Human & Organizational Development department. She has been at Vanderbilt for 18 years.
- What is something about your job that you wish everyone knew? I have very little time to read books. So many people have said to me over the years that I bet working in a library is real treat, I bet you read lots of books. 🙂 I was always smile and think to myself “I wish my job was that easy”.
- What’s a professional accomplishment that you’re particularly proud of? I love working students and I am always pleased when students come visit and tell me that my assistance helped them with a paper or project. It’s the small victories that count the most. I am also pleased to hear from students who have left Vanderbilt and who continue to keep me in the loop with what they are currently doing. I’ve received wedding invitations and a few baby announcements over the years. Many former students are my Facebook friends.
- When you’re not at work, what’s your favorite thing to do to fill your time? My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family. I have a 10 year old son who keeps me busy and entertained. So spending time with my husband and son is a top priority of mine. Being a working Mom & wife is its own career so learning how to balance your time is important.
