Research Rescue Tip: Interlibrary Loan

There’s nothing worse than finding the perfect article or book for your research … only to realize the library doesn’t own a subscription. Not to worry: Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will save the day. You can use ILL to request loans or copies of materials that aren’t available at Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt is part of a “Rapid ILL” group, which means that articles typically arrive within a few days (often even faster), delivered straight to your inbox. Books typically arrive within 1-2 weeks, and can be picked up at the VU library of your choice.

Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of this free service – and there’s no limit to the number of items you can request. Log into your ILL account to submit requests, view checkouts, renew loans, and more. If you need any help or have questions about ILL, stop by the Peabody Library Service Desk.
