Gaming in the Classroom: Introduction to Modding Minecraft Maps

Friday February 20th, 11:00 AM Central Library

Minecraft is one of the most successful games in video game history. It has over 100 million members worldwide. In Minecraft, users interact with a game world to “craft” different items. Players do not only craft items; they are able modify the game environment itself.

This week’s workshop, on Friday, February 20, led by Cliff Anderson and Lindsey Fox, will be an overview of Minecraft modifications (also called mods).  Participants will use Canary Mod, an open source technology, to write Minecraft mods. Additionally, participants will discuss ways to incorporate Minecraft into the classroom.

See the complete list and descriptions of the remaining Friday workshop sessions.
