Listen to the world’s music on Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries

Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries, produced in partnership with Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, is a virtual encyclopedia of the world’s musical and aural traditions. It includes streaming audio tracks of music from 170 countries and over 1,000 cultural groups. It offers nearly the entire Folkways and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings catalogs and the collections of two regional archives: the Archives and Research Centre for Ethnomusicology (ARCE), and the International Library of African Music (ILAM).
