My name is Tony Davis and I am a second year Master of Theological Studies candidate in the School of Divinity. I am happily married to the love of my life, Hillary; this May will be our 8th anniversary. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and History from Lyon College, which is located in Batesville, AR. I previously worked in the Geographic Information System (GIS) industry for over ten years before returning to school to work on my master’s degree. I will be moving back home to Arkansas after graduation and will be attending the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in the fall of 2014 where I will begin the Ph.D. program in Integrated Computing. My research interests are in the fields of Digital Humanities and Geographic Databases. In my spare time – as if anyone has any of that — I enjoy duck hunting, trap/ skeet shooting and fishing. My favorite sports teams are the Arkansas Razorbacks (everything… Woo Pig Sooie), the St. Louis Cardinals (baseball), and the Dallas Cowboys (football).
My favorite part of my job is the interaction with the students and staff. It is certainly a different environment and feel around here compared to the Divinity School. I am amazed at the passion and the intensity the students have regarding their academic fields of study. I thank each of them for the opportunity to have a small part in their academic progress while at Vanderbilt.
