GIS @ Vanderbilt – November 20th

“Complex Landscapes: Different Approaches to GIS in STEM and the Digital Humanities”
The Jean and Alexander Heard Library will celebrate GIS Day by sponsoring an informative public lecture centered around two GIS (geographic information system) faculty on campus. The presenters for GIS Day will be Janey Camp and Todd Hughes. Dr. Camp, a research assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt, is part of an initiative to integrate GIS into the K-12 metro school STEM education system. Dr. Hughes, the Director of Instructional Technologies at the Center for Second Language Studies, is leading efforts to integrate Neatline and GIS into departmental research at Vanderbilt.
The program will take place at the Central Library Community Room, Wednesday, November 20th, 2:30 -3:30. A light reception will follow.
