Recently, Vanderbilt University Libraries partnered with Middle Tennessee State Libraries and the MTSU Center for Historic Preservation to create a website and ContentDM database of stories of life in Civil War Tennessee. The website was created as part of the resources and events surrounding the Civil War Sesquicentennial with funds from the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area and in-kind support from Vanderbilt, MTSU and Anode, who designed the website layout. A number of objects on the site come from our own Special Collections’ Robert A. McGaw Tennessee Map Collection. The Shades of Gray and Blue website will be available to the public through MTSU’s Walker Library.
