Vanderbilt faculty, staff and administrators can gain free unlimited access to Inside Higher Ed courtesy of the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries. This online news source provides daily updates, in-depth analysis and career resources for higher education professionals, covering topics such as federal policy, faculty issues, admissions, technology, AI and more.
Vanderbilt users have access to Inside Higher Ed through the Heard Libraries catalog or from insidehighered.com when on campus. Users may register for a personal account using their vanderbilt.edu address, which will allow them to save items such as job ads.
To gain unlimited access to Inside Higher Ed:
- Go to “Log In” at the top right of the page.
- Create an account using your vanderbilt.edu email address.
- Access up to three free articles per month without connecting via the Heard Libraries’ subscription. After three articles, use the Heard Libraries catalog to access the site.
- Newsletters will remain free and continue delivering curated news, research and updates to subscribers.
- Job searching on Inside Higher Ed’s job board will remain fully open. Browse, search and apply to job listings directly from the site.
