We are thrilled to announce that our esteemed colleague, Kayce Gill, has been granted membership into the Academy of Health Information Professionals at the Distinguished level. This honor is a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of health information. Through diligent work and an innovative approach to health informatics, she has significantly contributed to the advancement of our industry. Please join us in congratulating Kayce on this remarkable achievement, which not only elevates our team’s expertise but also reinforces our mission to lead with integrity and innovation in healthcare.
Congratulations to Kayce Gill, who was elected to serve as one of the Heard Libraries’ representatives on the Vanderbilt University Staff Advisory Council. She will serve in this role for two years. The council serves as an advisory group to administration and staff on issues, policies and practices that affect the university and those served by the council.
Heather Laferriere and Thanita Sweat were both elected to serve on the Library Advisory Council (LAC). They will serve in this role for two years. The Library Advisory Council is a conduit for two-way communication between library leadership and library staff. Council members are encouraged to share concerns and to take the initiative to develop and further the strategic priorities of the libraries. They may also implement decisions when deemed appropriate or may refer recommendations to the library administration. The Council may also coordinate select system-wide efforts that align with the library’s mission and vision, such as our committee/group structure.
