The Jean & Alexander Heard Libraries, in partnership with the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), have acquired the research materials of Yusef Abdul Lateef. Lateef’s musical artistry crossed and combined multiple genres, including Middle Eastern and Asian music, American jazz, and classical. He was a noted educator, author, composer, and visual artist. This collection includes musical manuscripts, papers, photographs, and a watercolor painting.
