An SEL student assistant tells his COVID-19 pandemic story:
Hi my name is Paul Opiyo. I’m a sophomore majoring in Computer Science and I work at the Stevenson Library. When the pandemic started last year and Vanderbilt closed, I went to Atlanta and spent some time with family. I came back to Vanderbilt in May to take summer classes and catch up on some coursework. It was an interesting period since not so many people were in school, and adjusting to the new social norm was pretty difficult. However, a few of my friends were also in school at the same time, so it wasn’t too boring. We would meet on rare occasions to play FIFA and soccer, and this made last summer a bit fun, despite the crisis.
