Celebrating 100 Years of Peabody Library: Save the Dates

Peabody Library is celebrating its 100th year since opening in 1919. We are planning several events this fall semester, and all Vanderbilt faculty, students, staff, and particularly Peabody alumni are invited to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Peabody Library.
100th Birthday Party (Fireside Reading Room) – September 26, 1-2:30pm
  • Join us for a casual, drop-in celebration with cake & refreshments. Library tours will be available on request.
Centennial Reception (Grand Reading Room) – October 17, 4:00-6:00pm
  • This catered reception will feature champagne and refreshments, and is a chance to celebrate the historic nature of this Carnegie Library.
Tree Talk & Walk (Fireside Reading Room/Peabody Esplanade) – November 1, Noon-1pm
  • Join us for an engaging talk given by Steve Baskauf (Vanderbilt Libraries & Vanderbilt University Arboretum) to discuss the evolution of the magnificent trees on the Esplanade, followed by a walk around the Peabody College grounds. Light refreshments are provided.
Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon (Peabody Learning Commons) – March 18, 12-3pm
  • This event provides the community with the chance to contribute to the public good by editing Wikipedia entries featuring the women of Peabody (coincides with Women’s History Month). Lunch will be provided.

We hope to have you join us in celebrating our beautiful, historic library! More information is available at: http://researchguides.library.vanderbilt.edu/peabody100th
