WHEN: Thursday, March 21, 2019, 3-5 pm.
WHERE: The Wilson Music Library, located on the 2nd floor of the Blair School of Music.
ABOUT: Join us for a celebration of the theremin, a 20th century electronic instrument controlled without physical contact. Best known for its eerie, other-worldly sounds, the theremin is featured in several famous movies (The Day the Earth Stood Still, Spell Bound, The Lost Weekend), and popular and avant-garde music of the 20th and 21st centuries. See a demonstration of the theremin by Blair Senior Lecturer Lyn Bingham, try out the instrument for yourself, and enjoy space-age refreshments during our Spring Celebration.
This event is free and open to all Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff.
