On behalf of the staff of the Annette & Irwin Eskind Family Biomedical Library and Learning Center, we wish to welcome all new students, staff, and faculty to Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The Library re-opened on July 23, 2018 after a year-long renovation. The building contains the Eskind Biomedical Library (first floor and lower level), Digital Scholarship and Scholarly Communications (first floor), History of Medicine Collections (third floor), and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (second, third, and fourth floors).
Since we opened, there have been a few questions repeatedly asked at the Information Desk. First of all, I would like to emphasize the library is open to the University and the Medical Center. Please take note of our restricted hours where access is limited to current VU/VUMC badge holders. Second, library visitors should only occupy areas on the first floor and lower level unless you are visiting the History of Medicine Collections on the third floor. Lastly, we have ten study rooms in the library. The rooms seat from one to eight persons, are open daily on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be reserved in advance.
Sincerely,
Philip Walker
