Crowd-Sourcing with a Human Face

Vanderbilt University Library is hosting a symposium on June 2nd titled Crowd-Sourcing with a Human Face. Building on last year’s Cultural Heritage at Scale event, this symposium will explore the phenomenon of crowd-sourcing with a particular lens on its ethical, cultural, and social dimensions. The symposium will bring together speakers directing crowd-sourced projects, data curators, and other experts to discuss the social impact of crowd-sourcing. Speakers include Julie Allen (University of Florida), Daniel Fabbri (Vanderbilt University), and Eric Schmalz (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Workshops on open source crowd-sourcing platforms will also be offered.

Registration is free of charge, but spaces are limited. For more information and to register, see heritage-at-scale.info.
