This fall, staff members from the Peabody and Science & Engineering Libraries have been volunteering a bit of their time to promote the importance of early childhood literacy at one of the Vanderbilt Family and Child Centers.
Each week, students are introduced to books from Peabody Library’s Youth Collection that coincides with the classroom’s weekly lesson plan. Each story time visit lasts about fifteen minutes, but the joy that the children have demonstrated towards the books shows that there is always time to plant the seed of literacy so imaginations can grow!
