Kate Costin has recently joined the Peabody Library as the Subject Liaison for Leadership, Policy, & Organizations. In her new position, Kate will provide a full range of library services including instruction in the use of library resources, development and management of collections, and provide general and consultative reference services. Kate has a B.A. in Communications from DePaul University in Chicago, IL, and an M.L.S. from Indiana University in Bloomington. In 2010, she was the founding librarian of the Martin Luther King Jr. Library at Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory School, a Cristo-Rey network school located on the west-side of Chicago. More recently, she served as the Reference and Education Librarian in the Alberto Culver Health Learning Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
The library is also pleased to welcome Sara Bryant Pitts as the Head of Access Services/Public Services Coordinator. Sara provides leadership and management for service desks, access and delivery services across the Heard library system and supervises the operations of 8 discrete service desks, establishing and evaluating service level expectations across the system. Additionally, she manages the public service desk, circulation and stack maintenance operations at the Peabody Library. Sara has a B.A. in English from the University of Georgia in Athens and an M.L.I.S. from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. Sara was previously the Assistant Head of Access Services at the University of Missouri Libraries in Columbia.
