Since the early days of news reporting, artists have worked alongside correspondents, often risking their lives to report the news. Photographers took the place of illustrators as printing processes evolved and today it is difficult to imagine news coverage without visual images. Because of the efforts of these men and women, our understanding of the world events has been enriched and bettered.
