Due to the generosity of one of our donors, the library has begun to acquire volumes from the New Collected Works of Dmitri Shostakovich. Dmitri Shostakovich’s New Collected Works in 150 volumes differs from Shostakovich’s Collected Works in 42 volumes primarily in its full embrace of the composer’s creative work. lt includes all his works known today, as well as most of Shostakovich’s arrangements of other composers’ works. Over 80 of his works are being published for the first time.

Series III: Instrumental Concertos: v. 38 (Piano Concerto no. 1), v. 42 (Violin Concerto no. 1)
Series IV: Compositions for the stage: v. 52 (Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District)
Series VIII: Compositions for Solo Voice(s) with Orchestra: v.87 (Two fables by Ivan Krylov, op. 4 ; Six romances on Japanese poems, op. 21 ; Three romances on poems by Alexander Pushkin, op. 46a)
